Biography:
Mr. Waqas Ahmed Khan is working as Deputy Director (Networks) at Pakistan Education & Research Network (PERN)  since September 2009. He did his masters in Computer Systems and Networks. He has more than 13 years of experience in IT Systems and Networking field in various organizations. Prior to joining at Pakistan Education & Research Network (PERN), he has worked for multiple telecom companies in Pakistan.

At present he manages different services including eduroam, Microsoft Office 365 and HEIs email services. In 2015, he started the eduroam pilot project in Pakistan, which became the base for expansion of eduraom in Pakistan. He also created and managed the Pakistan Identity federation and joined eduGAIN, to introduce the concept of federated identity in Pakistan.
