Mohammad Tawrit is having 28 years of experience in the Telecommunication and Data communication field. And has been working as Chief Executive Officer of Bangladesh Research and Education Network (BdREN) since April, 2019.
He joined BdREN a project initiated by Ministry of Education and being implemented by University Grants Commission (UGC), as Operations Director in April, 2013 which was transformed into Chief Technical Officer (CTO) in January, 2015. During this tenure he was also involved in the design and implementation of a full-fledged Research and Education Network comprising installation of Transmission and Data Network, Cloud System Application, Video Conference System and Unified Communication System in all the public universities, major medical colleges and research organizations. He started his career as a Telecommunication Engineer and worked in that industry for long 22 years before shifting to REN industry.
He has drafted a number of presentations on different aspects of NRENs like NREN Services and Tariff Structure. He has worked in-depth on NREN sustainability. On NREN sustainability he presented a paper in the workshop on “Strategies of sustainability of R&E Networks” held at Dhaka, Bangladesh on October 30-31, 2017. Also he presented a similar paper on “NREN Sustainability” at the Governors’ Meeting in APAN45 at Singapore.
He is also one of the authors of the first Asi@Connect Compendium which has been very recently drafted and presented the draft compendium at the Governors’ Meeting in APAN47 at Seoul, South Korea.
During his professional career he received training on different aspects locally and also in abroad. He visited India, Singapore, Germany, China, Canada, Denmark, Sweden, New Zealand, Thailand and South Korea to receive training on multifarious telecommunication, data communication related topics and also on REN, to attend seminars and also as a guest presenter.
He attained professional certification on Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) and Cisco Secure PIX Firewall Advanced (CSPFA). He also attained Cisco Certified Academy Instructor (CCAI) certificate.
He has attained Bachelors and Masters in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and MBA from Institute of Business Administration (IBA) with major in Finance.
